Fun play with letters and words,
February 19, 2010 Our 3-year-old daughter is having a great time with this toy. She loves the auditory feedback she gets when she places the letters in the slots and creates a word that the program recognizes. It has 3 different levels of difficulty, going from learning the sounds that each letter makes, to spelling 3-letter words, to doing a word hunt by spelling a 3-letter word that the program gives you. For the hunt, the program will say the letter it wants you to look for, and a red light blinks above the corresponding slot. It uses lower cased letters, and the vowels are red. There is a setting that allows for 2 different degrees of volume, and you can power it off. We weren't diligent with turning it off, and we went through the batteries within 2 months.
It has definitely been a worthwhile purchase. I'm glad we got the one with 3 letters and not the one with only one letter.
