My sister had this toy at her house for her kids and when I took my 8 month old daughter over to play, she discovered it and LOVED it!! Of course I had to get her one and ever since then its been her favorite. I love that it plays in english and spanish and has different settings.

Other than teaching the alphabet, there is also a setting for dancing and when it says to clap my daughter claps along! My husband and I were amazed!! Great Buy!!!!

Review LeapFrog My First LeapPad Orange

5.0 out of 5 stars Love LeapFrog Products, January 9, 2010

This was purchased for a 3 year old. At first he was really hesitant about the toy. His 7 year old brother loves it and is often trying to get the high score.

It can be played as a 1 or 2 player game. We found that the kids get impatient trying to take turns. Especially, when they figure out the sequence. The game is not excessively loud and is good in the car. It plays several sequences in the form of songs with different levels. It doesn't seem to repeat the answers in the same patterns.

A good toy to grow with.

Review LeapFrog Tag Reading System (16 MB)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, neat technology, lacking memory, January 19, 2010
By Mark Zeller (Nottingham, MD United States)
Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

Architecture is key to design. This device works great, is innovative and exciting for my 5 and 2 year old to use. The books are okay and the process is somewhat educational, although mostly they zone out while playing with the pen and books and don't "learn" with others.

The nagging feature, for all that is good, is that the memory is limited. One can only download a limited number of books onto the pen, in order for it to work with a book (about 4 or 5 books at one time). My kids bounce between the 7 or so books we have (some were gifts). My wife is not a techie and could not configure or download the books to the pen. Although I don't think it is that hard, I put that out there as evidence that people who check email and surf to shop may have trouble installing and configuring this device.

Lastly, the process of "reading" the story interactively is slow. While the read-back voice is nice, it is too slow for my kids pace and they often miss the story via the pen. They often read the book or look at the pictures sans the pen.

Battery life is good on the pen and the technology is amazing. Overall we are happy with the product.

Review LeapFrog Tag Storage Case

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent carrying case, February 2, 2010

This is a great idea if your child takes their reader in the car. It's made out of a pretty durable plastic, not as flimsy as some of the other reviews make it out to be. It holds 6 books and the pen and keeps it all safe and secure. I do wish there were a little more room in there for our national geographic animal cards that go with the TAG system, but hey, can't have everything!

Pros: Easy for my son to hold, open and close. Fairly durable plastic. Great for keeping things tidy and together, especially for road trips.

Cons: Just one I can think of - the activity animal cards we have for the TAG don't fit that well with a book or two in there (they're pretty thick).

Review LeapFrog My Pal Scout

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not do our nighttime routine without it., February 14, 2010

My daughter loves her Scout. She got it for her first birthday and now we honestly cannot go a day without it. We were having trouble getting her to go to sleep on her own. Now as part of her routine, we hold Scout for her and she presses his "nighttime" foot twice (once is 2 minutes, twice is 5, three times is 10). We sit and listen to him together and then when it's done, she goes in the crib. She loves pressing the buttons and watching the light in his collar go on and off. He is a little awkward in how he says some things but it can be unintentionally hilarious (like how he says "edamame", my daughter's current favorite food). Plus my daughter doesn't care about that. I LOVE that I can change some of the music. It'd be great if they were continually adding more, or if I could put some of our own stuff on there, but at least we can rotate the songs in and out as we get sick of hearing them every night. She's had it six months, we keep it on the low volume, he is played with every single day, and we still have not had to replace the batteries.

My mom was so impressed with this toy that pretty much anybody she knows with a baby has gotten one for either a birthday or a holiday. They all seem to like theirs, also. Most of the moms in my daughter's play group have this for their kids as well. I haven't heard any complaints about it from anyone.

I got this for my 6 month old daughter who just loves this little puppy. You can program the dog to say your child's name, put in their favorite color, food, etc. Then when playing with it, it will bring up your child's favorite things which makes it more interesting to them.

Leapfrog also updates the songs that you can add onto the toy to make things interesting by changing what it is programed to do. I really like the lullaby button that plays sleepy music for 2, 5, or 10 minutes!

Review LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo

This was one of the first toys my son would play with in his high-chair. Back then (3-4 months?) all he could muster was to try to spin it slightly. Now that he is 10 months he still on occasion gives it a whirl.

Great toy, highly recommend, keeps interest and has plenty of repeating words with different modes. (Cat, Dog, or C, D, E, etc)
